5 features today's buyers are looking for in a home

These are the things buyers consistently go crazy for. Does your home have any of these features? Would you consider adding these features to enjoy yourself or to intrigue a future buyer?

A layout that works for real life:

Buyers are looking for a "livable" home, one that works for their day to day life and beyond. Is there ample storage, are there spots to drop your bag and shoes, can you see the back yard from the kitchen sink? etc. These simple things make all the difference. The floorplan often means more than the square footage.

Outdoor living:

The trend of outdoor living became popular a few years ago and has continued to be one of the number one "bonus" features of a home that helps buyers make the offer.

Natural light:

Over and over again when a home has great lighting I make sure to emphasize that in the listing description because I know how big of an effect it has on a potential buyer.

Walkability:

Especially as spring/summer approaches buyers are thinking of what their lives will look like living in a particular home/neighborhood. If you home is walkable to local restaurants & stores or has access to a trail system it will jump to the top of a buyers list.

3rd car garage:

Most buyers are looking for at least a 2 car garage but when a home has a 3rd car garage their eyes light up. Everyone need extra storage space and a 3rd car garage is the gold star for a home search.
