I have been a Real Estate Agent since 1984 - that is a really long time! In case you're interested, I will give you a brief history of how I got here.
My parents moved our family out to Covington in 1968. Let me tell you, there wasn't much here. There was a gas station/convenience store where the new McDonald's is being built complete with a hitching post to tie up your horse (I'm not making this up). There was no overpass at the intersection of Highway 18 and SE 272nd - just a flashing red light indicating it would be a good idea to stop and look before crossing Highway 18. The closest High School was Kentridge. I graduated in 1974.
I went on to Central Washington University where I graduated in 1980 with a degree in Elementary Education. There were very few teaching jobs in King County at that time so, until there were, I got my Real Estate License. As it turns out, I was very, very good at it! The rest, as they say, is history.
I raised my children, Jessica and Shane (and later, a nephew, Anthony), in Maple Valley. They are all grown now. Jessica was married on July 10 2010 to Colin Sternberg a Maple Valley native. Anthony has a home in Maple Valley and Shane is finishing up at CWU. My parents still live in Covington. They aren't crazy about all the growth but they sure love having that Home Depot just down the street.
I work all over South King County specializing in residential resale. I absolutely love what I do. It never gets old and is always changing. I have seen a lot but most important, I have gotten to know the people in the communities in which I work in ways that wouldn't have been possible in any other profession. 80% of my business comes from referrals from past clients and so my tree grows bigger with more branches. Nothing is more satisfying than selling a home to the sons and daughters of past clients. I don't even mind that it makes me feel ancient (not too much anyway).
I have included some photos below of my family and me doing the things I love the most - traveling, hiking, snowboarding and running. I hope this has helped you get to know me better. I would be so very happy to help you or someone you know with their Real Estate needs. And for those who are my past clients, thank you for your support and your confidence in me. It means the world!
